BUILDERS’ HOUSE NAMES

During the last two decades of the nineteenth century and the first two decades of the twentieth century, there was a fashion among house builders and developers to give buildings a permanent name. These names were frequently in stone or brick, embedded in the front elevation of terraces, semi-detached and detached houses. Other materials and positions were also employed.

The following list has been compiled of all the known examples within Long Eaton (as its boundaries were until 1921).
